Introduction Definitions Descriptions Research

n September, 2001, Arrowsmith School in Toronto received funding from The Donner Canadian Foundation for a three year study evaluating a number of outcome measures for 40 learning disabled students enrolled in the Arrowsmith Program at Arrowsmith School in Toronto. The formal title of the study is "Outcome Evaluation of the Arrowsmith Program in Treating Learning Disabled Students".

In June 2004, the third and final year of data was collected. A number of standardized measures were used such as achievement tests and tests of mental ability as well as measures of learning capacity and changes in rates of learning. On completion of the data analysis and study report, the results of this study will be available on the Arrowsmith School web site.

Prior to this in November, 1997, a more limited pilot project was undertaken in co-operation with St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School in the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The Arrowsmith School have made available here a summary of the averaged quantitative improvements seen in the students. Please click on the St. Patrick Pilot Project Summary.
