aton Arrowsmith School was established by Howard Eaton in 2005 in Vancouver as a co-educational, non-denominational independent day school for elementary and secondary school aged students with learning differences/disabilities. The Eaton Arrowsmith School is modeled after the Arrowsmith School in Toronto that was established in 1980 (http://www.arrowsmithschool.org) and has been operating successfully for more than 20 years.

In December 2004 Howard Eaton flew to Toronto to visit the Arrowsmith School and to meet administration, teachers and students. As a result of this visit and having some of his clients from the Eaton Learning Centre (www.eatonlearning.com) move to Toronto in order to attend Arrowsmith School it was decided that having the school’s program in Vancouver, B.C., would be beneficial to the local community. Thus, the Eaton Arrowsmith School uses the Arrowsmith Program and maintains the high standards of cognitive remediation as established by Arrowsmith School.

Eaton Arrowsmith School has a maximum enrollment of 100 full time students and in addition a number of students enrolled in the after-school part time program and in the Saturday motor symbol-sequencing program.

The Arrowsmith Program is offered in three other schools in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) and in five independent schools in Ontario. In addition, the Toronto Catholic District School Board offers the Arrowsmith Program in seven schools. There are now approximately 250 full-time students enrolled in the Arrowsmith Program across Canada.
